Consonants are 24

Vowels are 12

 Diphthongs are 4

And our today's lesson is on 9 Straight Strokes.


1. Consonants are the result of audible friction or stopping of the breath in some of the mouth or throat.

2. Vowels are the mouth-passage is left so open as not to cause audible friction, and voiced breath is sent through it, we have a vowel."

3. A Diphthong is a union of two vowel sounds in one syllable.
